Honest by design
A tongue-touch health tester is a genuinely interesting idea. The responsible version separates what is scientifically feasible today from what is not — and builds only the feasible parts well.
What imaging can suggest
Visible features of the tongue — coating, colour, texture, and moisture — have long been observed alongside general states such as dehydration, certain deficiencies, and oral conditions. Modern image models can flag these features consistently, which makes them useful as one input among several.
Why context matters
An image alone is weak evidence. Combined with your symptoms, age, sex, history, and wearable trends, a model can produce a more calibrated likelihood — always expressed as a range, never a single confident number.
The genetic-code limit
Reading your genetic code from a tongue touch is not possible. DNA sequencing requires a physical sample processed in a laboratory. Lumina does not claim otherwise, and we flag any feature that would require a lab test.
Guidance, not diagnosis
Because estimates carry uncertainty, every Lumina result ends with a recommendation about care — not a label. The goal is to help you decide, with a clinician, whether a signal deserves attention.
Lumina is a research preview. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Always consult a licensed clinician.
